Gertrude Louise "Trudy" Parker

June 20, 1942 — June 3, 2026

Lanark, IL

Gertrude Louise “Trudy” Parker passed away on June 3, 2026.

Born on June 20, 1942, to Leroy and Frances (Smith) Geiser, Trudy grew up appreciating the simpler things in life. She later married her husband, Robert Parker. The couple made their home in Freeport before eventually settling in Lanark. For over 30 years, she was a dedicated employee at Honeywell in Freeport.

A private and laid-back woman, Trudy found profound peace in nature. Following her husband's passing in January 2000, she spent time living near the Wisconsin River, drawn to the beauty of the North Woods. She had a deep love for animals, sharing her home with many dogs over the years and, most recently, her cherished cat, Lily.

Trudy cherished drives on the back roads. She was known for her simple routines, enjoying a warm cup of coffee, keeping up with the weather and the news, and always making sure her grandkids were hooked on ginger ale. She never could bring herself to tell her grandchildren "no". Trudy loved to talk and share countless stories that her family will forever hold close.

Trudy is survived by her son, Mike (Stephanie) Parker of Lanark; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Scott of Amory, MS, Samantha Parker of Barnum, MN, Cassandra (Jake) Parker of Tomahawk, WI, Christopher Parker of Tomahawk, WI, Maddie Parker of Lanark, Mackenzie (Jay) Parker of Barnum, MN, Matthew (Nicole) Parker of Tomahawk, WI, Ava Parker of Lanark, and Abi Parker of Lanark; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Harper, Kody Ann, Avery, Carson, Theo, and Eli; her brother, Richard (Nancy) Geiser of Freeport; her nephew, Craig, and niece, Connie; and honorary family members Kathy and Kris.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her parents, Leroy and Frances; her children, Scott, Susan, and Steve; and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte.
