Geraldine E. Dauphin, age 89, of Savanna, Illinois passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at her home in the presence of her loving family. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Savanna Bible Church. Burial will take place in the Savanna Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday June 22, 2013 at the Law- Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Memorials may be directed to the Savanna Bible Church or Mercy Hospice. Geraldine was born October 6, 1923, at her current home in Savanna. She was the daughter of Fred and Pauline (Notz) Krafft. Geraldine graduated from Savanna High School with the Class of 1941. She worked as an operator for the Savanna Telephone Company. Geraldine married Fred Dauphin on September 6, 1942. They shared 70 years together.
Geraldine was a member of the Savanna Bible Church, where she served as the Secretary of the Sunday School for 55 years. She was also a member of the Missionary circle at the Church. Geraldine was a member of the Rebakah Lodge. Geraldine enjoyed trips on the river with the family, where they would fish and camp on the houseboat.
Geraldine will be dearly missed by her husband, Fred; two sons, Larry (Lynn) Dauphin of Geneseo, Illinois and Jeff ( Ranee) Dauphin of Savanna, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Larry (Evelyn) Dauphin, Kent (Susie) Dauphin, Chad (Angela) Dauphin, Desiree (Sergio) Flores, Eric (Angela) Dauphin, David (Jackie) Dauphin, Sandi (Jason) Johnston and twelve great- grandchildren.
Geraldine was preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Carl Krafft; three sisters, Marian Brown, Mildred Taylor, and Florence Brock.
