Genevieve Kuhl

Genevieve Ruth Kuhl, of Miles, Iowa, died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Wyndcrest Nursing Facility Clinton, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa. Burial will be in the Miles City Cemetery Miles, Iowa. Friends may call from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Preston.
Genevieve was born November 14, 1913 in Rural Jackson County, Iowa, the daughter of Lee Ernest and Jennie (Laing) Taplin. On January 14, 1945 Genevieve married Leon “Sam” Taplin in Illinois.
Genevieve worked all of her life on the farm with her husband where they raised poultry and operated the Kuhl Hatchery most of her life. She had a real passion for raising ducks and geese on the family farm.
Genevieve will be deeply missed by her daughter, Susan (Otis) Welch of Sabula, Iowa; and one sister Marge Hoyer also of Sabula; two grandsons Ryan (Andrea) Welch of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Shane (Joan) Welch of Colo, Iowa; along with seven nieces and three nephews.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one nephew Kenneth Taplin.
