Gayle E. Taylor

Gayle E. Taylor, age 71, of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 11, 2016, at Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established in Gayle’s memory.
Gayle was born on November 21, 1944, in Hanover, Illinois. He was raised by his mother, Mildred Musselman and stepfather Ralph Musselman. He graduated from Hanover High School, and attended Highland Community College, Freeport, Illinois. He owned his own restaurant in Freeport for a time, before moving back to Hanover. After which, he was employed at Rolling Hills Progress Center in Lanark, Illinois. Gayle enjoyed watching sporting events and cherished visiting with his friends and family.
Gayle is survived by two nieces, Rhonda Mason-Lampe of Savanna and Audrey Mason-Kerker of Dubuque, Iowa; three great-nephews, and two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Larry Mason of Savanna.
