Gary Tripp

Gary “Yogi” Tripp , of Sterling, IL, passed away Sunday, February 13th, at Genesis Hospital in Davenport, IA. A service will be held Friday, February 18th at 11:00 am, with a visitation prior to the service from 9:30-11am at Hope United Methodist Church, Chadwick.

Gary was born August 24th, 1959, in Savanna, the son of Allen and Georgia (Yenney) Tripp. He graduated with the Chadwick class of 1977. He grew up going to Hope United Methodist Church. He attended Abiding Word Church in Sterling. He loved getting together and spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed listening to music. And when he was young, he enjoyed playing baseball and could hit the ball all the way to the fence and still get a base hit. He loved music festivals and going to cookouts. He volunteered at the Sterling Senior Citizens & Latin American Club.

Gary will be dearly missed by his parents, Allen and Georgia Tripp of Sterling, Illinois; a brother, Greg Tripp of Sterling; a sister Gena (David) Gonzales of Sterling, Illinois. Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd and Ida (Michael) Tripp, and George and Viola (Ewalt) Yenney.
