Gail D. Bowman

Gail D. Bowman, age 59, of Savanna, Illinois, died suddenly on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church, Savanna. Burial will take place in the Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Gail’s memory.

Gail was born on March 9, 1959, the daughter of Herman and Betty (Schnitzler) Bowman, Sr. in Savanna, Illinois. She attended Savanna High School and later attended Highland Community College in Freeport. Gail married William “Bill” Sedivy in 1979 and later married Darryl Law in 1987.

Gail was the Assistant Manager for the R.I.A. Federal Credit Union in Savanna for thirty-five years. She was active in her community and served on the Savanna City Council and the Savanna Chamber of Commerce. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon, on the church council, and as a past Sunday school teacher. Gail loved to travel, especially with her sister, Cleo. Gail enjoyed collecting Flamingo memorabilia and was a master Foosball player. In her spare time at home, Gail enjoyed watching classic T.V. shows and Disney movies with her Chihuahua, Anna. Most of all, Gail cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

Gail will be dearly missed by her four sons, Dustin (Jodi) Sedivy of Savanna, Brandon “Pete” (Amy) Sedivy of Savanna; Beau (Vanessa Lopez) Sedivy of Savanna, and Luka Law of Savanna; eleven grandchildren, Jena, Degan, Carter, Emmitt, Orion, Abigail, Jasmin, Beau-Trevor, Caleb, Tahj, and Elijah; her mother, Betty Bowman of Savanna; one sister, Cleo Haynes of Savanna; two brothers, Herman (MaryPat) Bowman, Jr. of Merritt Island, Florida, and Rex Bowman of Savanna; and many nieces and nephews. Gail is preceded in death by her father, Herman; and one brother in-law, James Haynes.
