Frederick "Fred" H. Evans

Frederick “Fred” H. Evans, age 60, of Savanna, Illinois, died Monday, September, 17, 2012, at the VA Health Care Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Fred was born October 11, 1951, at St. Francis Hospital in Freeport, Illinois, the son of William E. and Doris I. (Lamoreux) Evans. He attended Mt. Carroll High School. Fred served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Fred worked in the Savanna area following his discharge from the Army. He was employed at Face Makers, Swiss Colony, and Hardee’s. Fred became unable to work due to his battle with diabetes. He was a member of the Savanna American Legion and the V.F. W. in Savanna.
Fred is survived by two brothers, Cecil Evans of Clinton, Iowa, and Steve (Lorrie) Evans of Chadwick, Illinois; and three nephews, Mike (Rebecca) Noble, Dan (Dawn) Mitchell and Doug Mitchell, all of Savanna.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jacqueline Kay Evans.
