Fred F. Wade, Jr., age 72, of Sabula, Iowa, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Sabula. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be given in Fred's name for the Sabula VFW.
Fred was born August 10, 1936 in Alma, Wisconsin, the son of Fred, Sr. and Lyla (Conklin) Wade. He attended schools at Guttenburg, Iowa. On November 15, 1958, Fred married Sharon Kay White in Guttenburg. He served his country twice, first in the US Navy for four years, then after marriage he served in the US Airforce for five years.
Fred loved to fish on the Mississippi River. He also enjoyed hunting when he was younger, traveling to Florida with Sharon after retirement, and daily coffee with his friends. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bears Fan. He was a member of the Sabula VFW.
Fred will be dearly missed by his wife, Sharon of Sabula; a son, Trey (Stacey) Wade of Waukee, Iowa; three granddaughters, Kayla, Hallye and Norah; a sister, Kathy (Delos) Weseman of Guttenburg; and many friends. Fred was preceded in death by his daughter, Darcy; both parents; a brother, Jim; and two sisters, Nancy and Mollie.
