Frank W. Martin, age 56, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2006 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston, Iowa. Reverend Gregory Geier of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Music will be provided by Harriet Kukkuck and Patsy Simmons, sister in-law. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery. Frank was born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 27, 1949, the son of Carl and Gloria (Liles) Martin. Frank graduated from Great Mills High School, Lexington Park, Maryland and attended Northwestern College in Oklahoma. Frank worked for the Chicago Northwestern and the Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years. Frank ended his Railroad Career as a Corridor Manager for the Union Pacific Railroad. Frank enjoyed golfing, ballroom dancing and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. On September 2, 1972, Frank married Kay (Simmons) Martin, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston, Iowa.
Frank is survived by his wife Kay Martin, of Clinton, Iowa; one son Sean Martin of Clinton, Iowa; one daughter Marti (Andrew) Whalen of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother Lee Martin of Maryland; three sisters JoAnne Stegle of Virginia, Linda Martin of Maryland, and Judy Jarvis of Alabama; and his Step-Father Earl “Duke” DeEsch of Wilmington, North Carolina.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert Martin.
