Frank Felix Manning, age 81, of Thomson, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna, Illinois. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 26 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson with Reverend Dave Davies of Hope United Methodist Church, Chadwick, Illinois officiating. Burial will be in Upper York Cemetery, Argo Fay, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 25 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson.
Frank was born June 4, 1925 in Salem Twp., Illinois, the son of Frank and Lizzie (Eisenhour) Manning, Sr.. He married Helen Hans August 31, 1946 in Ideal, Illinois.
Frank worked as an AI technician for Prairie State Select Sires. He also farmed and hauled bulk milk.
Frank enjoyed watching his kids, in their youth, and his grandchildren play in sports and activities. He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, Chadwick, a past Master in Black Oak Grange and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He liked to “call” at square dancing, play the guitar, and he enjoyed camping.
Frank will be dearly missed by his wife, Helen Manning of Thomson; two sons, Bill (Lola) Manning and Kenny Manning, both of Thomson; four grandchildren, Christa (Dave) Curley, Bryce (Jessica) Manning, Dustin (Wendy) Manning and Alan Manning; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ally and Payton Curley and Ryan Manning. Frank is preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Arthur and Lester.
