Frances Jeannette Williamson

Frances Jeannette Williamson, 97, Passed away at the Allure Assisted Living Facility in Mt. Carroll. Prior to her stay at Allure, she was a long-time resident of the Caroline Mark Home. She was active at the Mt. Carroll Community of God Church and spent many hours ferrying and helping senior citizens to make doctor’s visits and shopping trips.
She was a life-time member of the Women’s Relief Corps and marched in every Memorial Day parade in Mt. Carroll walking Cemetery Hill to plant flowers on veterans’ graves until it became too difficult for her. She is a 1941 graduate of Mt. Carroll High School where she played on the woman’s basketball team.
Frances grew up in rural Mt. Carroll on the farm of her parents, Harry and Lottie Slick, and her four sisters and brother, all of whom preceded her in death. She later farmed with her husband, Arthur, who proceeded her in death in 1988. She also worked for Burgess Battery Co. of Freeport and Leslie Locke of Lanark before retiring in 1988.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Phyllis), of Ocala, Florida, daughters Linda Padilla (James) of Las Cruces, NM, and Laura Hamm of Calexico, CA, as well as her grandchildren, Ian and Brent Williamson (Melinda), both of Glenside, PA, and Mollie Lytle (Imel) and Melissa (Missi) Buckner (Imel) both of Hendersonville, NC. Great-grandchildren include Alice, Sophie and Lucy Williamson of Glenside, Ryan Williamson of Philadelphia, and Jacob (Rina) Watts, Kayla (Jarod) Hehner, and Dan and Adam Lytle, all of Hendersonville, NC . Great-great grandchildren are Olivia Watts and Ryan and Elija Hehner, all of Hendersonville. One great-grandchild, Clifford, preceded her in death. She is also survived by her nephew, Dick Kehl of Mt. Carroll.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Interment is in Mt. Carroll Cemetery.
