Frances Mae Edelen, age 85, of Polo, Illinois, and most recently a resident of Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport, IL. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Steve Woita will be held at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Chadwick at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2006, followed by interment of ashes at the Chadwick Cemetery. Frances was born April 11, 1920, in Fairhaven, the daughter of Milton and Bertha (Adolph) Hartman. She graduated from Mt. Carroll High School. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Polo.
Frances retired from Automatic Electric in Chicago and during her lifetime had been a waitress in Mt. Carroll, Polo and the Chicago area. She also worked at Kraft Foods in Milledgeville. Frances will be remembered for her love of gardening and her charitable nature.
Survivors include one brother, Victor (Laura) Hartman and one sister, Linda (Donald) Kness, of Chadwick, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her faithful dog, Deutzie.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents.
