Felix “Phil” Joseph Dubey, age 80, of Riverview Road, rural Thomson, Illinois died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in his home. There will be a celebration of Phil’s life at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Thomson with Pastor Michael Jones of the York Baptist Church officiating. Military Rites will follow the Funeral and will honor Phil’s service to our country. Friends are invited to attend the visitation from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home.
Phil was born March 9, 1925 in Montreal, Canada to George and Donalda (Bisson) Dubey. He served in the U.S. Army from July of 1943 until April of 1946 in Central Europe with the 82nd Airborne as a Pparatrooper. He married Virginia Pepperman in Freeport, Illinois on March 8, 1947.
Phil worked for Honeywell International and for Microswitch as a Screw Machine Set-Up person, retiring in 1982. Phil enjoyed fishing, bowling, birdwatching, hunting and camping.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Virginia, of Riverview, in rural Thomson; one son, Gary (Diane) Dubey of Freeport, Illinois; one daughter, Cheryl (Lynn) Wichman of Forreston, Illinois; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leon (Betsy) Dubey of Rockford, Illinois and Albert (Shirley) Dubey of Coco Beach, Florida; and three sisters, Rosina Burtrand of Albany, New York, Bertha (Mike) Van Valkenburg of Queensbury, New York; and Rosa Drayse of Tupperlake, New York. Felix is preceded in death by his parents.
