Evelyn L. Morhardt

Evelyn L. Morhardt, age 87 of Freeport, Illinois, died on December 24, 2011 in rural Mount Carroll. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Oakhill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. A memorial fund has been established in Evelyn‘s memory.
Evelyn was born on February 8, 1924, the daughter of Gustave and Lillian (Dale) Morhardt in Mount Carroll. She attended Mount Carroll High School and later attended Beautician School in Rockford, Illinois. Before attending beauty school, Evelyn worked for Burgess Battery and was a telephone operator in Freeport. Evelyn owned and operated her own beauty shop and later worked for Sunny’s Beauty Shop in Freeport. She was a beautician for over thirty years before retiring. Evelyn loved her family and treasured spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Evelyn will be dearly missed by her brother, Darwin (Darlene) Morhardt Sr. of Orangeville, Illinois; one sister, Darlene Streicher of rural Elizabeth, Illinois; and nine nieces and nephews, Glenda Adams, Mike Taft, Rick Taft, Darby Morhardt, Teresa Raab, Darwin Morhardt Jr, Garland Morhardt, Rodney Streicher and Ronald Morhardt; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
