Eugene Evan Weber, age 82, of Freeport, Illinois previously of Chadwick, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at FHN Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. Cremation will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Chadwick Cemetery, Chadwick.
Eugene was born on February 18, 1927, the son of Ward and Erma E. (Lego) Weber in Chadwick, Illinois. He graduated from Chadwick High School. Eugene served in the United States Navy during World War II. On July 31, 1949 Eugene married Frances M. Hartman at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick, Illinois.
Eugene owned and operated “Weber’s Repair” in Chadwick for fifty years as a self-employed mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion, Chadwick Post #739, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick, Illinois and a fifty plus year Mason. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, and golfing. Most important to Eugene was spending time with his family and friends.
Eugene will be dearly missed by his wife, Frances M. Weber of Freeport; a son, Terry (Jane) Weber of Keller, Texas; a daughter, Debra (Bill) Palmquist of Freeport, Illinois; five grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Adam, Sarah, and Catie; a great grandchild, Christopher Joseph; and a sister, Cleo (Oscar Jr.) Brown of Chadwick.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents.
