Erma G. Stein, age 90, of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at the Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna, Illinois.
Erma was born on June 22, 1918 in Polo, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Louise (Waterbury) Galor. She attended school in Polo and Mt. Carroll, Illinois. She graduated from Mt. Carroll High School with the Class of 1936. Erma married John H. Stein on December 20, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa. John died April 12, 1977 in Savanna.
Erma was a past member of The Brethren Church in Wacker, Illinois and a past member of Savanna Moose Lodge, Savanna. Erma enjoyed ceramics and playing cards with her family and friends.
Erma is survived by a nephew, Robert (Mary Lee) Bogue of Reynolds, Illinois; one great niece, Lisa (Flint) Price; and two great nephews, Sean Bogue and Michael Bogue.
Erma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; one son, Lawrence Elmer Stein; two brothers and one sister.
