Erma L. Robinson age 83, of Elizabeth, Illinois, passed away on October 7, 2006, in Elizabeth, Illinois. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. Pastor Robert Phelps of the Pleasant Valley Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in the Ladies' Union Cemetery, Stockton, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
Erma was born March 23, 1923 in Woodland Twp., Mt. Carroll, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Toepfer) Schubert. Erma married James Robinson, on February 15, 1945 in Stockton, Illinois. James passed away April 16, 1971.
Erma and her husband, James, farmed near Elizabeth for 26 years. Erma also was a cook at the Elizabeth Nursing Home for ten years, she worked at Eickman's Grocery in the Bakery Department, she was a Nurses Aid at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, she also worked in the lunch room for the Elizabeth School District. Erma was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of God. Erma enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, vegetable gardening and growing flowers. She also enjoyed visiting with friends while taking her daily walks. Most important to Erma was spending time with her family.
Erma is survived by three sons; Lee (Cheryl) Robinson of Freeport, Illinois, Dennis (Susanne) Robinson of Freeport, Richard (JoAnn) Robinson of Elizabeth, Illinois; three daughters, Karen (Robert) Winter of Elizabeth, Janet (Patrick) True of Hanover, Illinois, and Patricia (Kevin) Kukla of Hanover Park, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one brother Leland (Alice) Schubert of Stockton, Illinois.
Erma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Andrea Winter; a sister, Dorothy Polhill; and one brother, Allen Shubert.
