Elva P. Storm, age 95, of Mount Carroll, Illinois, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Freeport Memorial Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Internment will take place at the Upper York Cemetery, Argo Fay, Illinois. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be given to the family in Elva’s memory.
Elva was born November 26, 1909 in Thomson, Illinois, the daughter of Willis and Elizabeth (Smith) Stage. She married Theodore R. Storm on March 26, 1938 in Freeport, Illinois. Theodore passed away on December 15, 1979 in Rockford, Illinois.
Elva farmed with her husband in the Mt. Carroll area for 30 years. She was a member of the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, Preston Prairie Club, D.A.R., and H.E.A. Elva was also a reflexologist, seamstress and a Sunday school teacher. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, quilting, painting, baking, decorating wedding cakes, volunteering at the Mount Carroll Elementary School, playing the organ and singing in the church choir.
Elva will be deeply missed by her daughter, Ann (Art) Crouse of Mount Carroll, Illinois; two granddaughters, Denise (Scott) Brinkmeier of Mount Carroll, IL, Darby (Chip) Wilde of South Plainfield, NJ, and two great-grandchildren. Elva is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore; one son, Richard who died in infancy; three brothers, Leonard, Merle and Vern; and one sister, Lois Collinson.
