Eloise Menzemer, of Elizabeth, Illinois, passed away Sunday June 23, 2019 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Dottie Morizzo officiating at the Schapville Zion Presbyterian Church, Schapville, Illinois, with burial to follow at Zion Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Schapville Presbyterian Church.
Eloise was born in Thompson Township, rural Elizabeth, Illinois, the daughter of Rayman and Edna (Bray) Stauss. Eloise attended Hickory Grove School in rural Elizabeth and graduated from Elizabeth High School. She earned a B.A. Degree with a major in Social Studies and an M.A. Degree in Reading at Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa.
Eloise was a third-generation teacher. She taught at Hickory Grove in rural Elizabeth and in the Elizabeth School District #208, grades 2-12, and later acted as a Reading Supervisor and Reading Consultant.
Eloise was a lifelong member of the Schapville Presbyterian Church where she was organist for 27 years. She liked jigsaw puzzles, reading, and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with friends. Eloise felt God had blessed her with many true and sincere friends.
Eloise is preceded in death by her parents, sister Marian Heidenreich Pasco, two brothers-in-law, Orville “Nick” Heidenreich and Jack Pasco.
