Elizabeth Ann Flak

Elizabeth Ann Flak, age 86, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, formerly of Cicero, Illinois, died Sunday, January 15, 2006 at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church in Mt. Carroll with Father Moises Apostol as Celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll with a Scripture Wake Service held at 6:30 p.m..
Elizabeth was born November 8, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Sophie (Micek) Dorchek, immigrants from Czechoslovakia. She married Stanley Flak July 20, 1940 in Chicago. He died November 22, 1983.
Elizabeth was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, current events, and watching football and baseball. Elizabeth was a member of SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sandra (Lawrence) Andersen of Mt. Carroll; her son, Stanley (Donna) Flak of Murray, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Elliott Andersen, Noah Andersen, Ingrid (Jason) Lawlor, Mercy (Jacob) Grant and James Lee Flak; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Grant; one brother, Leonard Dorchek of Chicago; and one sister, Julia (Bernard) Waters of Silver Spring, Maryland.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and two brothers.
