Elizabeth L. “Bette” Lanza, age 77 of Lake Carroll, Illinois died Friday, November 12, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home, Mount Carroll. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc.; Midwest Chapter; 1800 N. Main Street #215; Wheaton, Illinois 60187 in Bette’s memory.
Bette was born on July 16, 1933, the daughter of Frank and Beatrice (Redek) Herbick in Chicago, Illinois. She attended St. Patrick High School and graduated with the Class of 1951. Bette married Anthony J. Lanza on August 15, 1954 in the St. David Catholic Church, Chicago.
Bette was as an administrative assistant for C.A. Benson and Associates in LaGrange, Illinois for over twenty years before retiring. Bette and her husband, Anthony lived in Riverside, Illinois for 30 years before they retired and built their new home in Lake Carroll in 1995. Bette enjoyed singing in the church choir at St. Mary's Parish in Riverside and loved spending time with her family.
Bette will be dearly missed by her husband, Anthony of Lake Carroll, her daughter, Judy (Joseph) Riley of Brookfield, Illinois; a son, David Lanza of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois; five grandsons, Brendan, Chris, Sean, Matt, and Joe; and one brother, Frank (Marge) Herbick of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Bette was preceded in death by her parents.
