Elgean B. Hall, age 92, of Garden Plain, Illinois, died Monday, August 2, 2010, at Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, Illinois. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Albany, Illinois, with Father David Austin as Celebrant. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be given to Resthave Nursing Home, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Albany, or for Mass.
Elgean was born on January 29, 1918, in Elizabeth, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph A. and Mary Ann (Schaefer) Banwarth. On December 28, 1937, Elgean married Harry K. Hall at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton, Illinois. Harry passed away on August 26, 1977 in Fulton, Illinois.
Elgean was employed at Francis Shimer College in Mt. Carroll, Illinois and at local restaurants. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, T.F. Card Club and the Over 50 Club all in Albany. Most important to Elgean was being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
Elgean will be dearly missed by her daughter Shirley (Robert) Nowak of Garden Plain; two grandchildren, Maria (Ben) Brown of Wilton, Iowa and David L. (Kim) Nowak of Normal, Illinois, and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Colby.
Elgean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; and three brothers.
