Elenor Conley

Elenor H. Conley’s greatest joy was cooking meals for friends and family and having them sample her homemade tassies. She passed away at the age of 100, Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna.
Elenor worked as a cook at the Lincoln, Avenue and Savanna High School for many years until she retired from the Savanna School District as Head Cook. It meant a lot to her to be able to cook from scratch for the students.

Elenor was born on October 16, 1912 in Savanna, the daughter of William and Lillie (Roberts) Yenney. She attended the country school just north of the Palisades State Park. On October 29, 1930 Elenor married the love of her life Forrest Conley in Savanna. Forrest passed away February 17, 1956.
Elenor will be dearly missed by her step granddaughter, Sherry Conley; one step great grandson, Scott Conley; and many nieces and nephews. Elenor is preceded in death by five brothers, George, Herman, Willie, Donald, Clarence; five sisters, Mary Pearce, Zelma Foley, Lillie Promenschenkel; Eva Butts and Hazel Buckwalter; four step sons, Orville, Frankie, Vern Conley; one step daughter, Vera (Jim) Kness; one step grandson, Chuck Conley; and a step great grand daughter, Kathy Jo Conley.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Savanna Township Cemetery.
