Elaine Marie Lambert

Elaine Marie Lambert, age 81, of Savanna, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 1, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna with Father Dennis Atto as Celebrant. Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. Elaine was born on November 3, 1928, the daughter of Millard B. and Mary E. (Loftus) Turner in Savanna. She attended Savanna High School and graduated with the Class of 1945. Elaine married William “Bill” Lambert on November 12, 1949 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna. Bill died on November 27, 2004.Elaine was a Bookkeeper for Miles Construction and was a telephone operator in Savanna. Elaine and her family moved to California in 1963 and later to Indiana before returning to Savanna in 1972. After returning to Savanna she assisted at the Caroline Mark Home and was a receptionist for Dr. Piper in Mount Carroll. Elaine was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and treasured visits from Lutheran Social Service Homemakers, especially from Catherine VanBrocklin. She looked forward to daily phone calls from her sister and close friends. Elaine also enjoyed listening to her police scanner and cherished spending time with her special Yorkie companion, Brady.Elaine will be dearly missed by her son, Brad (Jan) Lambert of Moline, Illinois; daughter, Brenda (Bill) Lambert-Fornshell of Chesterton, Indiana; one granddaughter, Layna Lambert; three grandsons, Chance Fornshell, Lance Lambert and Levi Lambert; a sister, Darlene Reusch of Savanna; and three nephews, Brian, Kevin and Randy Reusch. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bill.
