Eileen Schreiner

Eileen Mauer Schreiner of Savanna, Illinois, died at the age of 97 on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date.
Eileen was born July 14, 1917 in Savanna, the daughter of Oscar and Priscilla (Airhart) Mauer. She attended school in Savanna and graduated from Savanna Township High School. She married Raymond Schreiner on June 19, 1949 at the First United Methodist Church, Savanna. Raymond died on April 28, 1975.
Eileen was a homemaker, who treasured taking care of her family. She later worked as a sales associate for Montgomery Ward’s in Savanna. Eileen also worked as a payroll clerk for the Savanna Army Depot. She was a member of Lanes Home Extension, and her church’s quilting circle. She loved quilting, sewing, needlepoint and doing crafts.
Eileen will be dearly missed by one son, Lyle (Deborah) Schreiner of McAlester, Oklahoma; one daughter, Dorothy Hartman; eighteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; two daughters, Stephanie Fekete and Norma Jones; two sons, Marvin and William Schreiner; her parents, one sister, Priscilla Mauer; and one brother, Lester Mauer.
