Edward Irvin Hiher Jr

Edward I. Hiher Jr., age 62, of Thomson, Illinois passed away at home after an extended illness Saturday, September 28, 2019 in the loving care of his family. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in the honor of Edward’s life. Edward was born March 21, 1957, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Edward Sr. and Marilyn (Lease) Hiher. He graduated from Savanna High School with the Class of 1976. On March 12, 1977, Edward married Sheila Rieck.

Edward was known for having a good sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending quality time with friends and family was important to him. Edward worked for Drives Inc. in Fulton for 13 years. He also worked 10 years for IBP in Joslin, Illinois. In addition, he helped on several farms in the area.

Edward will be dearly missed by his two daughters, Pamela (Jacob) Diehl of Hanover, Illinois and Ashley Hiher of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kylie, Bradly, Kayla and Hayden; three sisters, Tracey Harrison of Clinton, Iowa, Mary Barkley of Rockford, Illinois, and Cindie Johnson of Fulton, Illinois; a brother, Jim Hiher; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.. Edward is preceded in death by both parents and his grandparents.
