E. Rudy Pascoe, age 63, of Elizabeth, Illinois, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, Elizabeth with Reverend Cheryl Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth with a Masonic Service following at 8:00 p.m. . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Elizabeth, The Oklahoma Volunteers in Mission (Mexico Mission Trip) or the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association in Rudy’s memory.

Rudy was born on October 13, 1947, the son of Marvin and Celestia (Heaton) Pascoe in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He graduated from Parker High School in Parker, South Dakota with the Class of 1965. Rudy attended the University of South Dakota and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business Education. Rudy married Janice A. Kistler on September 2, 1967 in Arlington, South Dakota. Rudy and Janice moved to Elizabeth in 1973. The past 34 years he made a living selling insurance, most recently with McCoy insurance. Rudy was a very active member of the community. He was a volunteer with the Elizabeth Ambulance for 29 years, as well as volunteering in many other community organizations. Rudy had a good sense of humor and loved a good debate. Rudy cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Janice of Elizabeth; a daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Smith of Bellevue, Iowa; two sons, Matthew (Marissa Justinano) Pascoe of Bloomingdale, Illinois, Stephen Pascoe of Elizabeth; three grandsons, Cade, Owen and Seth Smith; two brothers, Lee (Julie) Pascoe of Rathdrum, Idaho and Daniel Hymore of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and one sister, Glendola (Nick) Garnica of Parkston, South Dakota. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents.
