E. Theola Etnyre, age 95, of Freeport, Illinois, formerly of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the Provena St. Joseph Center, Freeport. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at the Frank – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll, with Rev. Mark Harkness of the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church or to the Caroline Mark Home, 222 East Lincoln St., Mt. Carroll, Illinois, 61053, in Theola’s memory.

Emily Theola Feiler was born March 9, 1913, in Osseo, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edward A. and Allie (Clark) Feiler. She was baptized at Fennimore, Wisconsin, in 1921. She is a member of the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Theola graduated from Freeport High School with the Class of 1929. Theola was united in marriage to Frank J. Etnyre on March 14, 1936, in Lanark, Illinois. He preceded her in death in November of 1975.

Theola worked at Furst McNess for seven years before her marriage. She moved to the Caroline Mark Home in Mt. Carroll in 1993, and later moved to the Provena St. Joseph Center in Freeport in 2003. She enjoyed embroidering and handwork, reading, playing cards, classical and barbershop music and operas.

Theola is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Daune (Bill) Glanville of Waupaca, Wisconsin; her granddaughter, Valerie (Dave) Beaumier of Oneida, Wisconsin; two great – grandchildren, Alex and Kira Beaumier; and two sisters, Shirley Fritzenmeier of Freeport, Illinois, and Beverly Quinn of Licking, Missouri.

Theola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, four brothers: DeLoyne, Lyle, Albert, and Donald Feiler; two sisters, Marlene Matheny and Maud Hunter; and one grandson Craig Suhling.
