Douglas Mitchell

Douglas E. Mitchell, Sr., age 49, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, passed away January 8, 2015 at home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2014 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
Doug was born January 1, 1966, the son of Douglas and Jacqueline (Evans) Mitchell in Chicago, Illinois. He and his family moved to Savanna in 1974, where he attended Savanna High School, graduating with the Class of 1984. He married Angelita “Angie” Reiff on May 20, 1989 at the Salvation Army Church in Kewanee, Illinois.
Doug worked for John Deere in Moline as an assembly worker for 14 years. He was an avid collector of coins and baseball cards. He enjoyed sports, computers, being outdoors, and especially spending time with his grandkids.
Doug is survived by his wife, Angie; One daughter, Stephanie Mitchell of Kewanee, Illinois; four sons, Jason Mitchell of Moline, Douglas (Kylie Jo) Mitchell, Jr. of Moline, Daniel Mitchell of Milan, and Jacob Mitchell of Moline; two brothers, Daniel (Dawn) Mitchell and Michael Mitchell of Savanna; and seven grandchildren. Doug is preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline, and his grandmother, Dorris.
