Dottie M. Peters

Dottie M. Peters, age 91 of Savanna, Illinois, died on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Dottie was born on July 19, 1920, the daughter of Ralph and Katherine (Wrightson) Estes in Vale, South Dakota. She attended Hot Springs High School and later attended beauty school. In 1945, Dottie married Wayne O. Peters. Dottie operated a hair salon in her own home for over ten years. She enjoyed painting, sewing, gardening, creating crafts and swimming in the Savanna pool. Dottie also enjoyed taking classes at Clinton Community College and being a member of the Savanna Art Club.
Dottie will be dearly missed by three children, Diane Peters of Savanna, Gary (Lisa) Peters of Angola, Indiana and Catherine (Jim) Deaderick of St. Augustine, Florida; five grandchildren, Heather, Cherie, Brad, Jennifer and Christopher and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne and two sisters, Fern Flesner and Marion Lutz.
