Dorothy Lucille Ertmer

Dorothy L. Ertmer, age 92, of Hanover, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Hanover. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 24, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hanover, with Father Noel Jacob as celebrant. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover.
Dorothy was born June 30, 1919, in Thompson Township, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Esther (Grebner) Musselman. She married Edward J. Ertmer on September 14, 1938 in Elizabeth, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1987.

Dorothy was a line worker for the Eaton Corporation for many years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hanover and was a past member of the Altar & Rosary Society and the church choir. Dorothy also volunteered at the Hanover Senior Citizen Center. Dorothy enjoyed knitting and made many afghan quilts for her family.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Lyle Ertmer of Hanover, Illinois; and two grandsons, Shawn and Arron Ertmer of Hanover, Illinois.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward J. Ertmer; two brothers; and one granddaughter.
