Dorothy J. Kurth Chase, age 97, of Lancaster, Wisconsin, formerly of Savanna, Illinois died Monday, September 18, 2006 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday , September 21, 2006 at Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna with Pastor Paul Sturn Officiating. Burial will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the funeral home, two hours prior to the service. Visitation will be also be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Dororthy was born December 5, 1909 in Savanna, IL, the daughter of Harry and Katharine (Ring) Swingley. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Savanna. She married Earl Kurth on August 18, 1929 in Freeport, IL. He passed away on January 31, 1978. She later married Clarence Chase in February, 1979. He passed away in 1984.
She is survived by two sons: Robert “Bob” (Doris) Kurth, Middlebury, IN; and Arland Kurth, Lancaster; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a grandchild
