Doris A. "Polly" Aude

Doris A. “Polly” Aude, age 75, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois died, Saturday, July 8, 2006, at the St. Anthony’s Hospital, Rockford, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll, with Reverend David Vidler of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. Memorials in Polly’s name may be given to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mt. Carroll or the Mt. Carroll Ambulance and Fire Department.
Polly was born, September 18, 1930 in Mt. Carroll, the daughter of Glen and Mae (Neis) Schriner. She graduated from Mt. Carroll High School with the Class of 1950. On September 24, 1950 Polly married Lester A. Aude, in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Lester died on June 16, 1994.
Polly worked at Gambles Hardware Store, retiring in 1986. She was a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mt. Carroll. Polly was also a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Deborah Circle at her church. She enjoyed helping with Meals on Wheels. Polly especially enjoyed helping people in need and loved spending time with her friends.
Polly will be missed by one brother, Don Schriner of Savanna, Illinois; one sister, Alma Schriner of Clinton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by two dear friends, Candie Bauch and Ron Carson.
Polly is preceded in death by her husband, Lester; two brothers, Bob and Lyle; and two sisters, Donna and Betty.
