Doris (Kretschmar) LeComte, age 89, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at her home in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. Funeral services are being held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1624 E. Euclid Avenue, Mt. Prospect with Reverend Stefan Munker officiating. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m., at the church.
Doris was born September 9, 1926 in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Charlotte (Marck) Kretschmar. She married Robert LeComte, her high school sweetheart, on February 14, 1946. Robert passed away August 12, 2002.
Doris worked for many years as a telephone operator for Rush Presbyterian North Hospital, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Doris loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, sister, and friends. She was a whiz at playing her favorite card game, Skip-Bo, and could beat almost everyone who played against her.
Doris will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Donna Hanrahan of Glenview, Denise (Joseph) Flasch of Mt. Prospect, and one son, John LeComte of Savanna. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, David (Nicole) Hanrahan, Lisa Poynor, Brian Flasch and Kevin Flasch. She will be greatly missed by her dear sister, Lois Deckert and her special friend, Bill DePrizo.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert.
