Doris Elaine Kallenberger-Judge, age 78 of Savanna, Illinois died on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Cremation Rites will be accorded.
Doris was born on May 23, 1935, the daughter of Merle Kallenberger and Lema (Jackson) Mangler in Muscatine, Iowa. She attended Savanna High School and graduated with the Class of 1953. Doris married William L. Judge, D.C. on December 31, 1964 in LaSalle, Illinois. William died on March 17, 1996 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Doris started her banking career at THE National Bank in Savanna after graduating high school. Doris served as a Loan Officer at State Bank and Trust in East Moline, Illinois for thirteen years. In 1987, Doris returned to Savanna and worked for the Savanna Times Journal and for twelve years at Facemakers, Inc., Savanna, before retiring in 2000. Doris enjoyed reading, playing the piano and listening to old music stations on the radio. Most of all, Doris treasured staying in touch with family and friends through cards and letters.
Doris will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Jodi L. Judge, D.C. of Peoria, Arizona and Mary Pat (Dan) Kaelin of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, Riley Stewart, Kacey Stewart and Elizabeth Kaelin; two sisters, Kathy Mangler of Savanna and Rose Rogers of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and one brother, Danny Mangler of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ronnie and Marvin Mangler.
