Doris Aileen Judas

Doris Aileen Judas, age 86, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church, Mt. Carroll with Pastor Elizabeth Mascal officiating. Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church and the Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Aileen was born December 22, 1924 in Elliott, Iowa, the daughter of Clare and Bertha Ester (Kruse) Sandell. On August 30, 1947, Doris married Gene D. Judas. The celebrated 63 years of marriage. Gene passed away December 22, 2010.
Aileen was a good homemaker and Mother. She felt strongly about teaching her children “right from wrong.” Doris enjoyed sewing, hand-tooling and leather-work. She was talented at baking bread and loved canning just about everything.
Aileen was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Mt. Carroll. She worked 16 years as secretary for Culligan Water, alongside Gene, her husband. Aileen also worked for Eaton Corp., retiring in 1988.
Aileen is survived and lovingly remembered by; a daughter, Mary Lynn Judas of Chicago, Illinois; three sons, Steven (Terri) Judas of Ivor, Virginia, Kevin (Debra) Judas of Milledgeville, Illinois, and John (Michelle) Judas of Oakwood Hills, Illinois; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Myrle MacClaflin of Tempe, Arizona; one brother, Kruse (Diane) Sandell of Freeport, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters in-law, Marian Ewalt of Freeport and Jeanette Judas of Mt. Carroll.
Aileen was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband and best friend, Gene Judas; one daughter, Ruth, in infancy; three sisters, Phyliss Sandell, Betty Ruth Temple and Flora May Sandell; and three brothers, Kenneth, William and Melvin Sandell.
