Donnagene (Linker) Sturtevant ,87, went home to be with her Lord on November 7, 2021. She was born October 30, 1934 in Brookville Illinois, the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Martz) Linker. She graduated from Polo high school in 1952 where she soon met the love of her life, Ronnie Sturtevant. They married July 3, 1954, raised four children and celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Donnagene had a passion for many things. In her younger years she loved gardening ,working in her flowerbeds, and cooking meals for her family. She would love decorating her whole house for whatever holiday was coming up . Donnagene looked forward to the weekends whenever there was a good auction so she could add to her many collections. She enjoyed the mornings where she would have breakfast, hang out with the boys around the kitchen table, and then looked forward to her many shopping day adventures with her daughters. Her biggest passion was her family. The whole family loved Sunday afternoons when Donnagene would gather everyone to the house to share a meal and fellowship. The grandchildren loved being around their grandma's table where they were guaranteed a Pepsi party and a good card game. Actually everyone loved being around Donnagene's kitchen table because that's where we always received support and unconditional love. The Chicago Cubs may yet again win the World Series in 2022 as they have one of their biggest fans rooting for them up in heaven now.
Donnagene will be dearly missed by her husband Ronnie of Shannon; two daughters, Valerie(Duane)Ludwig of Shannon and Robin (Larry) Heckman of Shannon; two sons, Steve (Pat )Sturtevant of Shannon and Scott (Lavonne) Sturtevant of Lake Carroll; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both parents; three brothers, Harold, Randall, and Vernon Linker; and a granddaughter, Heidi Ludwig.
We as a family are missing her dearly, but also celebrating the fact that she is more alive than ever with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and dear Heidi Marie! "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."2 Timothy 4:7
