Donna (Fisher) Semrow, age 78, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 in the care of her family at her daughter’s home in Savanna. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2017, at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in Donna’s memory.
Donna was born, July 15, 1939, the daughter of Walter and Lola (Thayer) Stoddard in Sabula, Iowa. She attended Sabula High School, graduating with the Class of 1956. She married Robert Fisher on June 9, 1956. He passed away August 28, 1996. She later married Clyde Semrow on September 9, 1999.
Donna worked at the Riverboat Lounge, and bartended at Canavan’s Pub in Savanna—purchasing Canavan’s in 1995 until retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, traveling with family, and talking with friends.
Donna will be dearly missed by her husband of 18 years, Clyde; five children, Brian (Misty) Fisher of Fallbrook, California, Darrell Fisher of Savanna, Illinois, Carla (Mike) Marshall of Savanna, Ben (Debbie) Fisher of Savanna, and Dan (Peggy) Fisher of Clinton, Iowa; four stepchildren, Robert, Sam, Sue and Sandy; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandsons; and one brother, Wayne (Mary Lou) Stoddard of Savanna.
Donna is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert; one daughter, Colette in 1976; a grandson, Jeremy Jackson in 2004; one sister, Constance Miller in 1976, and one brother, Jake Stoddard in 1983.
