Donna Jean Roling

Donna Jean Roling, age 65 of Preston, Iowa, formerly of Sugar Creek, died on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa. In accordance with Donna’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sugar Creek. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Sugar Creek. A memorial fund has been established in Donna’s memory.

Donna was born in Maquoketa, Iowa on October 19, 1952, the daughter of Adrian and Margaret (Trenkamp) Roling of Sugar Creek. She was raised in Sugar Creek and attended school in Sugar Creek and later graduated from Northeast High School in Goose Lake, with the Class of 1970. Donna was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was active in the Sugar Creek Choir and played the organ for 55 years. She worked as an Abstractor for the Iowa Title and Guaranty Company in Maquoketa, Iowa for forty-seven years. Donna was known as the “Family Planner”, she loved planning and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed attending church, playing music, and researching her family genealogy. Most of all, Donna treasured spending time with her family and friends.

Donna will be dearly missed by her mother, Margaret Roling of Preston; four siblings, Dale (Linda) Roling of Sugar Creek, Nancy Roling of Maquoketa, Iowa, Gary (Doris) Roling of Sugar Creek, and Janet Roling of Preston; fourteen nieces and nephews; eleven great-nieces and nephews; and two (on the way) great-great nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her father, Adrian; and one infant nephew, Darren Roling.
