Donna was born December 21, 1931, in Green Island, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Otto and Anna (Ingwersen) Johannsen. She attended Miles schools, graduating from Miles High School with the Class of 1949. On August 3, 1958, Donna married Walter “Tiny” Loomis. They had two daughters.

She and Tiny later owned and operated the Sandy Lane Resort and bait shop just north of Savanna. Donna spent her leisure time on a number of activities. She was an active member of the Lydians Society at St. Peter and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was quite the bowler; bowling a 799 scratch average to win a tournament in 1962! She and Tiny spent many fun evenings together at the old Savanna bowling alley. Donna and Tiny travelled extensively upon Tiny’s retirement, participated in numerous hobbies together, and even became self-taught wine makers. She also enjoyed assembling puzzles, card games with friends and gardening.
Donna will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Doriene Loomis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Diane (Kevin) Ritenour of Savanna; two grandsons, Travis (Katie) Ritenour of Savanna and Aaron (Emma) Ritenour of Beach Park, Illinois; great-granddaughter, Emelia; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; her brother, Harlan (Wilma) Johannsen and her sister, Rojean (Bernard) Duben.
