It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Bottrell on November 1, 2024, at the age of 75. A private family service will be held in her honor.
Donna was born on July 2, 1949 in Savanna, Illinois. As a young teenager, she chose to leave school early to help support her family after her father’s heart attack. This early responsibility helped pave the way to a life of becoming a loving, devoted caretaker. Donna’s life centered around her family.
On October 12, 1979, Donna married the love of her life, Terry Bottrell. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. Donna was a proud military wife who supported her husband’s career in the U.S. Army. Their family moved all over the country, and even lived in Italy and Germany.
Donna had a warm, kind spirit and was especially adored by her grandchildren. She enjoyed simple things in life such as baking, macramé, fishing, puzzles, and you could always catch her with one of the Harry Potter movies playing in the background. Donna especially enjoyed her favorite holiday, Halloween in which she took pleasure in fully transforming her sunroom into a Halloween themed, spooky and festive atmosphere which included full sized witches and a werewolf. Her family will forever cherish the memory of this stubborn yet kind and loving woman.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; her daughter, Kelly; son, J.D.; daughter-in-law, Nicole; and grandchildren, T.J. (Hannah), Shelby (Clayton), Sydney (Kevin), Nate, and Jaiden; along with her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ramona, and Waylon. She leaves behind their beloved dog, Izzy.
