For 30 + years, Chris owned and operated Fairview Barbering Salon in Rockford. Beyond being a place where customers received exceptional haircuts, the salon became a hub of friendship, laughter and advice. Chris's genuine interest in people went far beyond the the barber chair. His customer's knew they could confide in him, seek guidance, and leave with more than just a fresh hairstyle. He was a friend, a confidant and a mentor to his granddaughter Lilly.
At home, Chris was a loving and loyal husband to Sharon. He loved his family and would do anything for them. Along the way, Chris "adopted" many of his kids friends, making them feel like they were part of the family. Chris was short tempered but always more bark than bite, and he only listened when he agreed with you. If you knew Chris, you know, he marched to the beat of his own drum. He was silly and had a unique sense of humor that most enjoyed. Chris enjoyed his vegetable garden and was proud of his beautiful flowers. To sum Chris up, he was a stubborn old coot!
