Donald E. Krabbenhoft

Donald E. Krabbenhoft, age 75, of Andrew, Iowa, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the Miller – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Preston, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, also at Miller – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Preston. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Donald was born April 25, 1934, in Green Island, Iowa, the son of Robert H.F. and Mildred (Medinger) Krabbenhoft. He married Arlis Hayward on March 4, 1955, in Andrew, Iowa. Donald worked for the Jackson County Secondary Road Maintenance and was also a farmer. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, game shows, and cards with “His Boys.” Donald was also a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Arlis Krabbenhoft of Andrew; three daughters, Pam (Allen) Feller, Brenda Bartels, and Lori (Russ) Houston, all of Maquoketa; three sons, Butch (Mary) Krabbenhoft of Fairbank, Iowa, Roger Krabbenhoft of Sabula, Iowa, and Mike (Kate) Krabbenhoft of Andrew; eleven grandchildren, Kelly, Amanda, Ryan (Fiance Sarah), Kasey, Chantel, Sammy, Damian, Shelby, Kane, Noah, and Isabel; one great grandchild, Kaitlyn; his mother – in – law, Algean Hayward; and several nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Robert; one brother, Robert Krabbenhoft Jr., one sister – in – law, Mary Krabbenhoft; two grandchildren, Holly and Brittney Hicks; and his father – in – law, Russell Hayward Sr.
