Donald Vincent Deppa

Donald Vincent Deppa, age 82 of Savanna, Illinois passed away on July 29, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center South, Clinton. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2012 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. Mr. Deppa was born on March 12, 1930 to Anthony Deppa and Mary (Gump) Deppa in Savanna. Donald served his country in the United States Army from 1951- 1959. On September 12, 1953, Donald married Anna T. Wiegman in St. Francis Catholic Church in Hazel Green, Wisconsin and later moved to Savanna. Donald was a caring father of four children; Anthony Deppa, Linda Schmidt, Theresa LaShelle and Marcia Siedenburg.
Mr. Deppa was an active member of the Savanna community including volunteering for the Savanna Fire Department, the Moose as well as a lifetime member of the VFW. During retirement, Donald enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and socializing with family and friends.
Donald will be deeply missed by his family and friends; his good humor and friendship will not be forgotten. He is survived by his Daughters, Linda (David) Schmidt of Albany, IL, Theresa LaShelle of Clinton, IA, Marcia Siedenburg of Clinton, IA;Grandchildren, Shaunia (Robert R.) Deppa-Manley, Amanda LaShelle and Anthony LaShelle;Great-Grandchildren, Taylor Winter and Landin Fahlbeck.
Mr. Deppa is proceded in death by his wife, Anna T. (Wiegman) Deppa; Son, Anthony Deppa; and Parents; Anthony Deppa and Mary (Gump) Deppa.
