Donald Berry, age 76, of Clinton, Iowa, formerly of Sabula, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at his home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of his cremated remains will take place in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.
Donald Berry was born August 4, 1942, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of James and Cleo (Burns) Berry. After graduation from high school, Don proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1964-1966. Donald worked for Trausch Baking Company, where he was a salesman for 32 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club and American Veterans in Clinton, Iowa. He owned horses and enjoyed quarter horse racing. Most of all, Don cherished spending time with his family and friends. Don will be remembered for endless happy demeanor. He never complained, even when times were tough, and had a “forever young” mentality that made him a delight to all who knew him.
Donald will be dearly missed by one brother, Michael Berry; one nephew, Robert (Karen) Marburger; one niece, Christine Vosatka; one great nephew, Matthew Marburger, two great nieces, Sara Marburger, and Mary Marburger, and his two cats, Magoo and Tom. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, James and Cleo; brother, James Marburger; and sister, Mary Marburger.
