Dolores “Dee” E. Noe, age 76, of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at the Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, Iowa. According to her wishes, Dee will be cremated and a service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in Dee’s name.
Dolores was born September 26, 1934, in Sycamore, Illinois, the daughter of Richard J.E. and Petranello “Dolly” (Rohde) Freeman Sr.. She attended the Sycamore School System and received Beautician’s License from the State of Illinois. Dee married Dorse Noe on December 31, 2002. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2006.
Dee worked as a beautician for many years while also working as a waitress, and later retiring from GTE in Genoa, Illinois. She enjoyed many crafts, and was especially skilled at crocheting, cross stitching and knitting. Dee loved her family and always enjoyed the chance to host family reunions.
Dee is survived by four step daughters, Tracy Tracey of Wisconsin, Geri Freeman of Grafton, Wisconsin, Linda (Dick) Lockwood Crystal Lake, Illinois, and Janet (Stephen) Rhoads of St. Louis, Missouri; two step sons, Ron Austin of DeKalb, Illinois, and Larry Austin of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Juanita (Ronald) Abbott of DeKalb; Dawn (Loren) Michl of Savanna, Illinois, and Linda (Larry) Gilbreth of Sycamore, Illinois; two brothers, Vernon (Theresa) Freeman of Genoa, Illinois, and Richard “Red” (Georgia) Freeman of Sycamore; one sister – in – law, Nancy (Jim) Davidson of Missouri; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, William Lewis, Harold Austin, and Dorse Noe; an infant daughter, Lisa Marie Lewis; two sisters, Winnie Lund – Horton and Rosemarie Freeman; three brothers, Larry, Ronald, and Kenneth Freeman; and two aunts, Phyllis Rohde in infancy and Madelyn Maness.
