Dolly A. Jennings, age 86, of Sabula, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois with Father Moises Apostol as Celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Sabula. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.
Dolly was born March 10, 1930 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Anna (Green) Furlong. She attended Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque and graduated with the Class of 1948.
Dolly worked for Elkay Manufacturing in Savanna as a lineworker until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Host #5234 in Sabula. She loved doing crafts, playing bingo, and especially loved spending time with her family.
Dolly will be dearly missed by her three sons, Charles Jennings of Clinton, Iowa, Mark (Sharon) Jennings of Rapid City, Illinois, and Christopher (Robin) Jennings of Dewitt, Iowa; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Joan) Furlong of Dubuque, and Peter (Barbara) Coyle of Dubuque; two sisters, Marilyn (William) Garbart of Zelienople, Pennsylvania, and Patricia (David) Lehman of Dubuque, Iowa.
Dolly is preceded in death by one son, Michael (Barb) Jennings of Creston, Iowa; her parents, Walter and Anna Furlong; two sisters, Joyce (Jack) O’Tolle of Dubuque and Kathleen (Terry) Loso of East Dubuque, Illinois, and two brothers, Eugene Furlong and Michael Coyle.
