Devin Ray Johnson, age 20, of Savanna, Illinois, went to be in heaven on Monday, July 1, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Law- Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Law- Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Devin’s name.
Devin was born on September 13, 1992, the first child of Roger and Brandy (Schoenhaar) Johnson in Freeport, Illinois. He attended West Carroll High School and graduated with the Class of 2011. Devin worked as a Commercial Fisherman and loved the outdoors. Along with being a fisherman, Devin was an avid hunter. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers, but especially loved riding his three-wheelers and declared, “real men ride trikes!” Most of all, Devin liked hanging out with his friends, and could charm anyone with his big, bright smile.
Devin will be dearly missed by his parents, Roger and Brandy Johnson; two younger sisters, Nichole and Andrea Johnson; his paternal grandmother, Vicki Darrah; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Kathy Schoenhaar; one great-grandmother, Isabel Brundage; several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Devin is preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, Roger Johnson, Sr. and Russ Darrah; maternal great- grandfather, Robert Brundage and his paternal great- grandfather, Frank Gillen.
