Dennis Lee "Rat" Kleckner

January 16, 1956 — April 16, 2021

Dennis Lee “Rat” Kleckner, age 65 of Savanna passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 at home. A Celebration of Life will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Family and friends are invited to share in his life at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com .

Dennis was born January 16, 1956 in Savanna, the son of Owen and Lillian (Johnson) Kleckner. From a young age everybody knew that you couldn’t keep “Muskrat” indoors. He was a true outdoorsman and always found peace when he was hunting or fishing. He made fishing his career as a Commercial Fisherman on the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. The only thing he loved as much as being outdoors on the river, was riding a Harley. He found his rhythm in life when the wind was blowing through his beard.

He never wanted to be the center of attention and enjoyed just hanging out with friends. He was a loyal friend to many. His music of choice lately was old country, but he also had a love for 70s rock.

“Rat” will be dearly missed by six siblings, Royce Kleckner of Savanna, Colleen Holt of Almagordo, New Mexico, Brian Kleckner of Savanna, Jenise (Tim) Sheedy of Sabula, Melinda Gutierrez of Sabula, and Pat (Tina) Kleckner of Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by both parents; a sister Robin at birth; and two brothers-in-law, Jose Gutierrez and John Holt.
