Dennis E. Cook, age 66, of Miles, Iowa, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at his home in Miles. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston, Iowa with Pastor Bill Warhover of the United Presbyterian Church of Miles, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Preston, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 pm until 7 pm on Monday, April 21, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Preston. A memorial fund has been established in Dennis’ memory.

Dennis was born on October 7, 1941, in Clinton, Iowa. He attended schools in the Miles area, and graduated from the Miles High School with the Class of 1959. Dennis then spent 6 years in the Iowa National Guard. On March 10, 1989, Dennis married Beverly Bormann in the St. Joseph’s Church in Preston, Iowa.

Dennis was the parts manager for Kunau Implement Co. in Preston for 47 years. He was a past member of the Miles City Council in Miles, Iowa; he was a past president of the Preston Iowa Lions Club and was retired from the Miles Fire Department. He was currently on the Board of Directors of the Miles Ambulance. In his spare time, Dennis was an avid golfer and a member of the Maquoketa Country Club. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Bev of Miles; two sons, Brad (Heidel) Budde of North Prairie, Wisconsin, and Tim (Jody) Budde of Preston, Iowa; two daughters, Angie (Kevin) Petersen of Preston, and Lori (Rodney) Scheckel of Mukwonago, Wisconsin; and eight grandchildren.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents.
